the super-human potential of the brain…evidence of our hidden abilites

Imagine if we were truly able to accomplish astounding mental feats like fictional superheroes.  Well, look no further. One day, we will all be able to tap on this hidden potential our brains possess.

It appears that there are people who have these astonishing mental capabilities.  These wonders are paving the way for neuroscientists and biologists to further understand the makings of the human brain.

A recent post on the Daily Galaxy describes in great detail some the incredible examples of these astounding abilities being found in various people across the globe.  Beyond the Rain man phenomenon, there are people in this world whose brains are different.  Their abilities are astounding.  What is this difference?  Do we all have these super human abilities in a latent form?

One example of these savants is Stephen Wiltshire.  He is able to briefly scan a panoramic landscape, and using his brain only, he can duplicate the complete landscape, down to accurately displaying how many windows in the skyscrapers.  His brain is a human camera, and he is able to duplicate this snapshot in his mind onto  paper with a pencil, and with mind boggling accuracy.

Take a look at this video where he takes a brief ride over Tokyo and duplicates the view.  It is amazing!

Who knows?  Research may be discover the super hero abilities of our brains, and we may see a shift in humanity were we least expected it!
